Chateau Haut-Batailley

The fifth growth estate of Batailley was divided in 1942 to form Batailley and Haut-Batailley and sits on the southern edge of Pauiillac bordering St. Julien. Haut-Batailley was in the hands of the Brest-Borie family until it was bought by the Cazes family of Lynch-Bages in 2017 at which time the vineyard covered 22 hectares with 70% as Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. A further 19 hectares had never been replanted after phylloxera, but retained the rights to be planted as AOC Pauillac and after soil studies these have now all been planted again.
