Domaine Lafarge-Vial

Established in 2014 by Frédéric and Chantal Lafarge (Vial is Chatal’s maiden name) who also manage domaine Lafarge in Volnay, this domaine of just over 4 hectares is based in Fleurie with several plots there and a small vineyard in ajoining Chiroubles. The vineyards, as with those in Volnay, are farmed biodynamically. Wines are made with around 20% whole cluster berries and maturation is carried out in older barrel and demi-muid. La Joie du Palais comes from a 1.5ha high altitude plot of very old vines, so steep (up to 50%!) it has to be worked by horse.
