Cantine Birgi

Cantine Birgi was established in 1960 on the Eastern side of Sicily, by a small group of 10 winemakers with a deep passion for nature and their winemaking traditions. Nowadays, the co-operative has around 1000 winegrowers who share the ethos of more sustainable practices and organic farming methods which focus on soil health and biodiversity. They farm native varieties such as Catarratto, Zibbibo, Nero d’Avola, Nerello Mascalese, as well as some international varieties including Syrah. The bottle, cork and capsule for their sustainable 10.5% range are all sourced from recycled materials and are part of Sicily’s ‘Sostain’ project.
