Domaine Alain Chavy

The Chavy family have been tending their vines in Puligny for over 200 years, but it was only in 1976 that Gerard Chavy began to bottle his own wine, rapidly becoming one of the best addresses in the village. In 2003, Gerard’s sone Jean-Louis and Alain divided the estate and went their separate ways. Alain farms 10 hectares including 4 permier crus and is one of only 3 domaines to hold land in Les Clavoillons. Alain uses a portion of larger 400L barrels alongside the traditional 228L and is very sparing with battonage, prefering wines with a taut minerality.
