Domaine Eric de Suremain

Monthélie is one of the less well known villages on the Côte, perhaps because in the past much of its wine was sold through négocients, but this lack of fame means the wines remain relatively fairly priced. The Suremain domaine is located at the Château de Monthelie and has existed for over 250 years. It is currently run by Eric and Dominique who have also been joined by their daughter Gwendoline in the last 5 years. They have 10 hectares in Monthelie and Rully, with their prize vineyard being half of the 6 hectare Sur la Velle premier cru which borders the Clos de Chênes premier cru in Volnay. The vineyards have been biodynamically farmed since 1996 and the wines are all certified Organic.
